Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive, classroom/building wide management system that we utilize at the Villa of Hope School. It is an evidenced based, problem solving approach that emphasizes providing a continuum of supports for all students. More than 20,000 school in the United States implement the system. We have three basic expectations within our Villa of Hope School; to be Safe, to be Responsible and to be Respectful. We have adopted a school-wide token economy system where students earn tickets when they exhibit appropriate behaviors. Students are able to trade in the tickets once a week at our school store.
We began the year with our PBIS kickoff where the students were introduced to the matrix and our expectations through a fun game of Family Feud!
We celebrate student/staff/cottage staff of the month, where students and teachers can nominate others for “doing the right thing”.
Have a Safe, Responsible, and Respectful School Year!!
