Smart Schools Funding

The Villa of Hope School submitted a supplemental plan for spending the remaining Smart Schools funds.

Our application has requested the use of the funds to purchase a Dell Latitude Laptop to add to our laptop inventory at school. Along with the laptop we have proposed purchases that include-Dell 27 Monitor, 4K HDMI Cable with Ethernet, Dell Optical Mouse, Dell Dock, and a Dell EcoLoop Pro Briefcase.

We have heard from students, parents, and staff that access to computers and technology integration is important. Many have requested access outside of school when needed, especially during the COVID pandemic. Students are typically using Microsoft teams to connect with teachers and instruction missed due to school avoidance, school absences, Snow Days and/or other.

In addition, we are using an online Progress Monitoring Tool. Fastbridge assessments are being administered three (3) times throughout the year. The data collected helps to inform instruction and AIS services for each of our students. Teachers are then able to provide appropriate interventions to ensure success.

Thank you to SUNY Brockport Interim Dean, Dr. Thomas Hernandez. We appreciate the consult regarding best practices in Education aligned to Technology Integration.
