Villa of Hope…Our Garden Party!

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 our Summer Work Based Learning Program sponsored a Garden Party. Thank you to Miss Fennessy and her students for planning and organizing. Our Human Ecology and Art Work Based Learning Programs participated.

We enjoyed hosting many parents and family members, along with our Villa of Hope Executive Leadership Team. Our visitors raved about the flowers, the vegetables, and the snacks provided.

Our Art program sold paper products they made this summer as part of their papermaking program. They also painted an amazing mural in our ISS room.

Thank you all, we are so proud of what you have accomplished this summer!

Assemblyman Meeks Visits VOH School

Thank you to Assemblyman Meeks and his team for visiting Villa of Hope School today, Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Assemblyman Meeks toured the school and visited informally with our students in special area classes that included technology and art. He then spent some time speaking with our Quad 1 youth…he shared his story and a little about his work with the Legislature. Following his visit with Quad 1 he spent time chatting with Quad 3. Our youth had many questions, some of which addressed the challenges of racism and diversity in our Rochester community. Assemblyman Meeks also asked our students questions regarding their experience at Villa of Hope School, what they aspire to do and be, and how he can help improve their opportunities well into the future.

Thank you again Assemblyman…your willingness to engage and connect with our students and staff at Villa of Hope School is valued and appreciated. Please come back and visit us again soon!

Oh How Our Garden Grows!!

Check out our Gardenscapes this Spring! Thank you to our Horticulture team that includes our students, of course…inspired by Aaron Schnittman, Danielle Oldenburg, Erin Fennessy, and Wendy Stahl. Our Spring Flower Sale was a success! We have beautified our campus…

Much to be proud of!

PUSH Physical Theatre Residency

We are thrilled to have PUSH back again this school year. They have been terrific Villa of Hope School supporters and partners. Our first introduction was March 8th and March 11th. The team presented a school wide virtual assembly. They will be here for an in-person workshop March 22nd and 25th. We have developed a plan for keeping everyone healthy and safe while having the opportunity to explore physical theatre.

Through the month of April the PUSH team will work with small groups of our youth in preparation for telling their own special stories during a school wide performance early in May.

Thank you PUSH for your commitment, dedication, and loyalty to Villa of Hope School!

Reopening Villa of Hope School

The COVID 19 Pandemic has certainly tested our resilience and ability to change and grow.

Our learning community has done an outstanding job adjusting to these unprecedented times. We look forward to reopening fully for our ESY Summer Program.

Our ESY Summer Program will begin on July 5, 2021…but school will be closed on July 5th for the July 4th Holiday. Happy Independence Day! This will be a six (6) week program ending on August 13, 2021. We will see our students back for full days, five days per week on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Our Fall School Year 2021-2022 will begin in September. We will be posting our 2021-2022 School Calendar shortly.

It will be our goal to accommodate student and family needs with a focus on Social Emotional Learning as we all adjust to fully reopening school after more than one year.
